A guide to exploring

About 12 Axes

A clearer way to explore the many dimensions of political belief.

The model and its author

This website is based on 12 Axes by Enzo Xavier Santos and uses the project with permission. Questions, profiles, vectors and scoring model © 2026 Enzo Xavier Santos. Used with permission.

The original project acknowledges inspiration from politicaltests’ original 12axes, 9axes, 8values and the Political Compass. Those are separate projects with their own authors and models. This website does not claim to be the earlier politicaltests test.

What this edition offers

The questionnaire explores governance, civil power, migration, foreign policy, economics, religion, social norms and technology. It preserves the twelve independent axes and the original reference catalogs, while providing detailed explanations in English and Portuguese.

You can choose three questionnaire lengths, revisit your answers, share a compact result link, compare two results, form a voluntary group and keep a history in your own browser. The country map and reference pages provide additional ways to explore the catalog.

Interpretation and independence

Political labels are simplifications. The reference vectors are interpretive models, and a close match is not an endorsement or an assertion that a named person took this test. Scores should be read together with the underlying axes.

This edition computes results independently and does not use the original author’s hosted results service. Original attribution remains visible throughout the site and on exported results. Images have separate credits and licenses.
