Frequently asked questions
Is the 12 Axes test scientifically accurate?
It is a tool for exploration and conversation, not a validated scientific instrument, diagnosis or voting recommendation. Results depend on the questions, your answers and the reference profiles.
How many questions are there?
Short has 36 statements, Complete has 60 and Extreme has 240. There are also five archetype choices and an optional religion selection. Reading time varies, and you can save your progress and return later.
What do the percentages mean?
Each axis measures preference between two poles. 70% Public also means 30% Private. It does not mean you agree with 70% of an ideology, or that 70% of people think like you.
Is my data stored?
Quiz progress and history stay in this browser. A result link contains your encoded scores. When you voluntarily join a group, the service stores your result until you delete it or the group expires.
Is this the politicaltests 12axes test?
No. This site uses Enzo Xavier Santos’s model with permission. The politicaltests project has a different test also named 12axes. The projects have their own questions and models.
Who made the questions?
The questions, profiles, vectors and scoring model were created by Enzo Xavier Santos. This web edition is used with permission and preserves the original project’s attribution.
Which Portuguese variety is used?
The original questionnaire uses Brazilian Portuguese. This site offers one Portuguese version at /pt and preserves the original question text.
Does selecting a religion change my scores?
No. The optional religion selection filters profiles that require a particular affiliation. Your answers to the scored Religion-axis statements are still calculated normally.
Can I compare results with friends?
Yes. Use the invitation on your result for a two-person comparison, or create a group. A group average is shown only after at least three people participate.
Does a match imply political endorsement?
No. Compatibility describes proximity between twelve numeric values. It does not imply approval of a person, government, movement, policy or historical action.
